My Twin Girls Powerful Story

A lot have been asking me ever since I gave birth, how my twins are doing. So I decided to share to you Lyana and Zyana’s journey. My 32 weeker baby girls. ❤️👯👯

I am very proud of how far they have come and that my little girls are the strongest. 💪❤️

Their story is God’s story of love, miracles and grace. May their story give hope to all preemie mothers. May their story showcase how real and loving our God is. ❤️

On February 6, 2018, my little girls decided to come out and say Hi to the world. 🙂

This was right after they got out from mommy’s tummy.
Zyana got out at 4:03pm, weighing 1.55kgs.
Lyana got out at 4:05pm, weighing 1.92kgs.
This was Lyana, on CPAP, she was having retractions.
This was Zyana, under observation.

Lyana was transferred to the NICU 2 days afer she was born.

Lyana was transferred to the NICU, where she gets a one on one strict monitoring. She was having a respiratory distress syndrome and episodes of apnea (cessation of breathing for 20 seconds).

And after 1 week..

Lyana, was now free from CPAP. She can now breathe continuosly with oxygen. 🙂

And this was Lyana’s first night in a regular room. Out from the NICU already! 🙂

Look how happy she was to finally be with us in the room. 🙂

While Lyana was in the NICU, Zyana on the other hand was starting to have episodes of apnea. So we had to transfer her also to the NICU.

Zyana was so small and tiny. And she also had several episodes of vomiting and spit-ups despite being NPO for days.

While Zyana is recovering in the NICU, here is Lyana’s first cuddle with mommy. 🙂

This was the first time I was able to carry her in my arms. It was a bittersweet experience. I was happy to have her in my arms but I was also longing to have Zyana wrapped in my arms too.

Good news!! The day after that, Lyana’s oxygen support was removed. Praise God! 🙂

Another good news was that we finally got the doctor’s order to transfer Zyana to our room. Praise God! 🙂

And look! No more oxygen support for Zyana too! 🙂

And I finally got to hold Zyana in my arms. 🙂

I cannot describe how full my heart was when I held her close to my heart.

And then a week after we had them both in the room, another good news! No more wires for Lyana. She can finally drink milk on her own and she can consume enough to make her gain weight. 🙂

And a few days after Lyana’s breakthrough, ofcourse Zyana celebrated with her sister too by getting her own breakthrough too!

No more wires for Zyana too! She can drink milk all the way without spitting up most of it and she is gaining weight fast too! 🙂

My twin girls were so fast in recovering, we were just waitng for our doctor’s order to allow us to finally go home as a family.

And after two days, the day has finally come! We got the discharge order and we were just so excited and happy to get out from the hospital after almost a month of living, eating, and sleeping there.

They were waiting so patiently while daddy was preparing the discharge papers. They looked so peaceful and calm.

And finally, March 2, 2018. The day we finally came home with our twin girls. The best feeling ever. My heart was so full and happy that we finally get to be a family in our humble home. 🙂

This was the first time they slept in their crib. And the first of many cuddles they have with each other. 🙂

And this was the first time we were able to carry them both in our arms, TOGETHER! 🙂

And, we also had our first mall together as a family! A picture I will forever cherish! 🙂

Presenting… THE GABUTINS!

And now, I praise God for His faithfulness and sovereignty in our humble journey. And I am awakened and inspired to encourage and inspire preemie mothers to hold on and keep the faith. There is such a brave and courageous heart inside every tiny preemie babies. 🙂

To God be the glory!
